FAQ

The Boutique

Are dogs allowed inside the boutique?
Oh yes, we welcome all well-behaved dogs. Please do bring your dog in for a visit, we’d love to meet you both. Be sure to bring his pocket money, as your pup is almost certain to set his heart upon a dog treat or five to take home!

For those not keen to venture inside, there is always a well-filled water bowl just outside the door to make sure all our friends can get a drink whenever they need one.

Do you stock dog food in the boutique?

We stock dog treats and natural chews, none of which contain rawhide.

We sell a frozen raw food brand called Benyfit – a natural way to feed your pup.  Available in two ranges: 80-20 which is 80% Meat and 20% Vegetables, and the 80-10-10 which is 80% Meat 10% Bone 10% Offal. We have this in a selection of flavours to suit all tastes!

Can I try dog coats, jumpers, or accessories on my dog to check the fit?
For some items, there are samples designated as “Feel Free to try for size,” which are in a variety of designs and fabrics. We have guides on how to measure and measuring tapes available in the boutique so that you can find your pup’s perfect fit.
If you’d like an extra pair of hands, we are happy to help. We find two sets of hands to measure are more equal to the four legs of your wriggling pooch!!
Do you sell gift vouchers?
We are pleased to offer gift vouchers to any value. These make great gifts for either the dogs in your life or friends who love their dogs as much as you do. They are available in-store and are redeemable at both the Spa and Boutique for up to 4 months from the time of purchase.

The Spa

Are your dog groomers qualified?
Yes, all of our dog grooming staff are qualified or experienced to City And Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.

There are more junior members of the team who are either working towards their qualifications or helping out in some of the less specialised areas of the Spa. These members of the team are always supervised by more experienced, qualified team members.

We offer work experience for students from Bishop Burton College. Any work experience staff will always be fully supervised by a qualified team member and will assist with the grooming process.

Do I need to wait with my dog while s(he) has their groom?
You do not have to wait with your dog. We will give you an idea of how long your dog’s pamper session will take, and you are free to enjoy all the amenities in town while you await your freshly preened and pampered pup. Don’t forget to save some time to browse our dog boutique while you’re in town.

It is often better if you are not around as your pooch is more likely to behave if they are not distracted by your presence! However, if you have any concerns, please feel free to give us a call, raise a query via the website, or call into the Spa, and we will be happy to discuss your needs.

Are your dog grooming products suitable for dogs with sensitive skin?
We use Tropiclean dog grooming products which are 100% natural and are gentle to your dog’s skin and kind to your nose! Infused with coconut, our dog shampoos, and spa treatments clean effectively without any abrasive chemicals or nasties.

If you have any special requirements or would like us to use a particular brand due to your dog’s sensitivities, please feel free to give us a call, raise a query via the website, or call into the Spa, and we will be happy to discuss your needs.

My dog is scared of other dogs, can you groom one to one?
Our dog grooming stations are separated, so your dog will not come into physical contact with any other dogs during their groom. We do frequently have dogs in the boutique having a browse that will be visible to your dog.

Our opening hours allow quieter times of the day to be available, which may help some of our more nervous customers, and we offer late-night opening one night a week, which may be of help.

Please give us a call to discuss, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

My puppy has never been to the groomers before. Do you offer an introduction service for puppies?
Congratulations on your new addition! We offer puppy grooming, whereby your pup can be gently introduced to the salon and grooming processes. It’s very different from being bathed at home, and it’s great to make an early introduction, so your puppy is confident for a lifetime of pampering.

You can pop in anytime to introduce your puppy to the environment, sights, and smells of our boutique and spa before booking in for your puppy’s first groom.

How much does dog grooming cost?
The cost varies by breed, size and coat condition.
Although we could give a guide, this would be subject to change when we meet your dog at the time of their session.
Please feel free to phone the Spa, or call in and we will be able to give a much more accurate cost by asking some key questions.

It’s advised that your puppy or dog has regular grooming sessions every 6-8 weeks. This will help your dog feel comfortable and keep costs down as your pup’s coat will always be in top-notch condition!

How long will it take to groom my dog?
When you book your dog in for their groom, we will give you a rough idea of how long the pampering session will take. This will vary by breed, temperament, and coat condition, as every dog is individual.
